Pages from the little black notebook
Charlie blankly stared out her window into the Vinyard aisles. She had moved to the Okanagan valley a couple months ago from her Humbolt hometown, to be closer to her boy friend, Greg. She looked over at the little black notebook, then over at the little piece of paper that he tore out of it and wrote 7 measly words on it that read; “I’m sorry, Charlie. I’ve met someone else.”

Blood of a Rose
All-day at school I felt like something big was going to happen... something bad. I just didn't know what it was. I had a feeling deep in the pit of my gut. My friend lizzy tried distracting me. She was telling me about Amanda Shirlwind's latest boyfriend. Her story was interesting enough considering Amanda is the school slut and was an everyday gossip. Leaving her alone with your boyfriend could be a mistake that would likely cost you your relationship. I mean there is the occasional guy that turns Amanda down but that's a rarity among teenage boys.

Purple Inked Names
Tuesday morning just isn’t the same without a stop into the local coffee shop, notebook tucked under my arm and a delicately steaming cappuccino to help me pass the time into early afternoon. Except today isn’t Tuesday, after all, is it? No, it’s Wednesday. Somehow even my little black book and I can’t keep track of these awkward days passing a little too swiftly - even for me.

A Lucky Sign
Jason eyed his third duffle skeptically. Two were already bursting at the seams with going-away presents and this last was approaching critical mass. He did not want to show up at his dorm with more bags than he could carry, especially since he was now out of real luggage.

Finding Me
It was one of those days: the days where your eyes fill with tears every time you turn a corner, the days where each breath is more difficult than that last, the days where anything and everything feels like its going wrong. The noise in my head was so loud that I couldn’t hear myself think. The self-doubt quickly became self-hatred and I needed to run. I got in my car and went to the place where breathing always comes easy: the woods.

Audreys suprise
Once Upon a time in a very busy city lived a modestly sweet young woman known as Audrey. On a bustling street full of Character and charm, amongst unusual book shops, hipster cafes with thriving plants and eccentric art stores sat a kooky apothecary.

Daisy Chain
It was 2010. Before I had made the decision to disappear, I had prepared. I understood that every movement I had made over the past few years had been tracked, logged, and preserved because of the technological world I lived in now. I had gradually reduced my digital footprint under my old identity and increased my privacy online. I had gone to lengths to acquire a completely anonymous, secure, mobile smartphone using cash. Likewise, for my laptop computer. I had been squirreling cash away for some time now. I had cut the fat from my social life, so my absence would be less conspicuous. I had set up an anonymous mail drop under a fake identity, my new identity, and had been having mail delivered there, including my fake identity documents.
