The Conservative Contradiction
There are very few people in Western capitalist societies, I would allege, that would disagree with a simple observation: Orwellian allusions are the great cliché of our times. At present, it is conservatives who retread those familiar steps to the well of '1984' and 'Animal Farm', bucket scraping violently against the gravel bottom as they reach that exhausted font. The storming of the Capitol in the United States has provoked many consequences for the purveyors of conservative thought; by virtue of their relative ascendance in political life, those same consequences have, unfortunately, a filtered effect on the rest of us. But there is one outcome which has filled the mouths and minds of talking heads across the globe: the President of the United States has been permanently banned from Twitter.

My Fellow Americans
A little bit about me Before you read this, please note that I’m not a political person. I’m not a person that gets worked up very often either. I’ve always had a live and let live approach to life, something that this country has always allowed me to have. But lately, I find myself absolutely disgusted with this country, it’s leaders and unfortunately it’s people.

We Need A Future Without COVID-19
People are dying everyday. I wish we lived in a world where no one died. COVID-19 has caused a lot of stress and I'm afraid it might even get bigger or mutate into a deadlier strain. I wish I was not a brutally pessimistic person. I believe that we, as a human-race, are far more capable of leading a more beautiful and safer life than what we're doing now.

HOW TO KILL A DEMOCRACY IN FIVE EASY STEPS
HOW TO KILL A DEMOCRACY: FIVE EASY STEPS If you were a doctor, and American Democracy was the patient, what would you conclude about the patient’s prognosis, after the shocking events of this week? Would you conclude that the patient, seemingly near death, had been killed by an acute injury, or a chronic illness?

Sens. Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz are hoping you're dumb
In the aftermath of the riot at the US capitol, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-TX) and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) are working overtime to try and distance their behavior from the actions of pro-Trump supporters. Hawley has spent the past few weeks, in a move surely meant to bolster his national profile, making himself the face of the election opposition. On December 30, 2020, Hawley announced he would object to the certification of electoral college votes. On the day of the riot, a photo circulated of Josh Hawley waving support to pro-Trump supporters outside the capitol. Hours later, he would be in protective custody as those same supporters stormed the capitol building.

Can We All Finally Agree That White Supremacy is Bad?
When I was in 3rd grade Wolfenstein 3D got ported onto the Super Nintendo. I remember renting the cartridge from my local Blockbuster on Friday, and spending the entire weekend with my controller heating up in my hands and my fingers developing blisters as I sent a storm of lead into the pixelated agents of the Third Reich. While charging a brain case cyborg with the face of Adolf Hitler on it with guns blazing and rockets blasting isn't exactly a subtle message, it was one I'd been hearing my whole life.
