nature poetry
An ode to Mother Nature; poems that take their inspiration from the great outdoors.
Transition
As I sit here, I am reminded to listen to the trees. To feel the pulse of their breath within my bones. To watch the shimmer of their existence as the leaves turn to vibrant hues of red, orange, yellow, gold, purple, and some, even black, before they disengage from the source of their being to drift on the currents of the wind, spiraling to rest on the ground.

In the Beginning
In the beginning, two creatures lived side by side. The goddess was life and the god was power. They were perfect. Each day, she looked upon his face and bathed in his warmth. She twisted and grew in every direction just to touch him. He held her up as if she weighed nothing. He gave her the strength and comfort she needed.
