Lust For Words. Top Story - August 2023.
Inspired. I feel so very inspired by my recent swim in the velvety ocean of Poetry here on Vocal that I simply must bring more attention to them. These are the poems that aren’t just great (for there are so very many of those on here). No.

I SPY
I spy with my little eye: A hot air balloon floating in the sky The softball from a winning game An S-hook A two-seater car, ready for a cruise A picture of a bride and groom One reading lamp, missing a light bulb One alarm clock, stopped at five past 12 Three square electric clocks A swing for a bear and his teddy A full plum pig One hippo, with mouth wide open A rickety house, forever frozen in place One musical instrument, missing its strings A broken electric fan, made out of metal A train, stopping to unload its cargo

Expression
When is a poem not a poem? Short answer? When you want to cheat the system a little bit. Why cheat the system? Because sometimes 600 words is too much, but Vocal has no other place for short articles. But also, this article is more about my poetry than not. So, perhaps I’m cheating the system less than I think. But anyway, I wanted to take a moment to talk about expressing one’s self.

A Plagiaristic Ode To My Record Player
Some Records That Provide The Plagiarised Words For this Poem I hadn't done a Plagiaristic Poem for a while, and I usually use the sonnet, villanelle, or acrostic forms, but I thought I would try another Ode for the Vocal Ode To Ordinary challenge.
