Get noticed when you walk into a room

My Poems Smell Like Perfume

I wear a little perfume

on my shoulder,

a little on my neck,

And behind my ears.

It’s something I do

to treat myself,

and I’ve been doing it for years.

I always buy the best I can,

however what’s most suitable to me

is a little tiny bottle,

and it’s called Poeme

It’s like a poetess, like me.

I am a poetess,

I write poetry,

so what more could I want

in a perfume?

Something that says,

she’s famous,

when I walk into the room.

They ask me what I’m wearing,

and I say,

oh, Poeme,

And they all say,

we know you are,

but what’s your perfume?

I ask again.

I laugh and I say,

Poeme, the perfume,

it’s the best.

It makes me feel so wonderful

when I smell it

when I’m dressed in my best.

They all laugh,

and stutter,

and splutter out the room,

but I know they can’t afford it

when they walk away,

their faces full of gloom.
