It‘s Tomorrow Now

It’s tomorrow and you left me yesterday,

A shadow lingering where light once played,

The echoes of your footsteps fade away,

As time turns, but my heart still stays.

I search the hours, the minutes in between,

The spaces where we met, where we had been,

But you are gone, a whisper in the breeze,

And I’m still here, on bent and broken knees.

Tomorrow’s hope is just a distant sigh,

A promise I once thought would never die,

Yet here I stand with only silence near,

The weight of your absence crystal clear.

You left me yesterday, and still I wait,

For what’s to come or what was left to fate,

But tomorrow’s sky will hold no new surprise—

It’s only just another time to cry.

And then—I rise.

Yesterday is gone, tomorrow is left to tomorrow. Today is a brand new day, a unique day.

You will overcome all that happens in this life. Your poem proves that. Good job.

There’s so much pain here—but also strength. The fact that you’re still standing means tomorrow still holds something new. Great job!
