Silo Season 2 Review
Silo has always been full of different moods, but none of them are good. That was true in Season 1, and it's true again in Season 2. The first episode of Season 2, "The Engineer," conveys a creeping sense of dread throughout. It's been 18 months since the first season finale, and you'd think it would take some effort to return. Werewolves 2024 Film Review
2024 has not been a record year for werewolves movies. Aside from a few small, little-known indie films and some Z-grade duds, the genre's major releases have been limited to this summer's "The Beast Within," a thinly veiled domestic violence fable that constantly forgets it's a werewolves movie. The Return 2024 Movie Review
As a lover of Greek mythology and fantasy, I'm not entirely satisfied with a film that strips away these elements in favor of a purely human story with stronger historical roots. Uberto Pasolini's "The Return" is a well-made, beautifully acted, somewhat staid retelling of Homer's epic poem "The Odyssey," with no sirens or cyclops and no great sea adventures. SQUID GAME Season 2 Review – The Capitalistic Horrors Return
After Squid Game became a sensation in 2021, moved quickly to expand Squid Game to as many media as possible. It's hard not to be pessimistic following a decision that so ignored the purpose of the series. Still, it's hard to feel too negative about Squid Game returning for season 2. The dark action dystopia is still full of relevance. It's almost shocking how obvious her argument is even after the 2024 election, and yet it's what got us hooked on the series in the first place. In season 2 of The Squid Game, the series spins new threads and deepens recurring characters. The series continues to expertly use the genre to uncover deeper social issues.
