“Is it this big white house on the corner? Huh. Not what I was expecting.” Doug and I pulled up alongside the curb and I turned off the car. We were meeting a potential new client today. She didn’t have her own means of transportation to come to our office for her free initial consultation. Although she would have – she offered to take a bus, two trains and a cab to get to our office. Not that we were so far away from each other. Our office was only about 15 miles from her home, but there was no direct route. It seemed silly to make a 60-something year old woman go through that much trouble for a consultation. Plus, we needed the work, so we didn’t mind making the trip.

5 Life Lessons I've Learned So Far
As my birthday slowly approaches, I spend more time contemplating and re-evaluating my growth which falls into three categories: mind, body, and soul. Endless hours of therapy, journal entries, and stories on Vocal, I've witnessed a jump in my mental fitness and clarity. I made a conscious effort to grow and improveannually based on the saying, "you aren't living if you aren't growing." I've had my fair share of ups and downs, and every lesson I've learned I carry with me as wisdom to share it with those who may not know.

Hosting a Dance Party After September 11th, 2001
My experience of September 11th, 2001, was bizarre. My girlfriend at the time was in the middle of nowhere, on a ship and completely cut off from the world. I was working a morning shift at a video store doing inventory when we heard the news and everyone dropped what they were doing to watch a terrible looking feed of the local NBC affiliate. When the second plane hit and it became apparent that this was not an accident, the boss sent us home for the day to be with our families.

The great divide
it’s been very frustrating in the last several years watching the world who wanted nothing but to be connected with each other now seek to divide. We talk about culture appropriation, racism, and privilege. A lot of people are making this white thing as if the color of your skin makes any difference in any of this. And I know some of you just read that and felt offended and thought to yourself oh this is someone speaking who is privileged. And that there is a problem you speak it not realizing you yourself are it as well. Most people don’t realize that they’re living in the same boat as those they’re pointing the finger at. Every single culture every single color of skin has been at the downside of others at one point or another. You are all victim blaming and you cannot seem to move past and create a better future with this connection we all have now that we never had before.

A Call For Justice
Let's Reduce Full Time Working Hours from 42 to 32 Hours Per Week Over the 100 year period from 1870 to 1970 the number of hours a person worked declined from 61 hours per week to 42. Why haven’t working hours continued to decline? It has been 50 years since the last reduction and the time has now come to reduce the working week by at least another 10 hours by the year 2022.
