The Holiday Season is upon us. Thanksgiving is barely out of the way, and the shops have transitioned from Black Friday sales right into Christmas sales. The local radio stations have been playing carols for about the same length of time. Neighborhood lighting competitions are well underway. Its a typical December here in the good ol' USA.

Winter Was Storytime Growing Up As A Child . Honorable Mention in The Ritual of Winter Challenge.
While growing up in my family, there were lots and lots of stories. Stories from children's books were read, mostly at bedtime, and there were stories told year-round. Stories that weren't written. Stories that were very old and taught a lesson or told of why things are the way they are.

Lani’s Acorn
When I was young and Christmas rolled around I would watch “It’s a wonderful Life”. They would pretty much give it in every channel and I would end up seeing it multiple times. It’s a great movie with a heartwarming message of our own value. Or at least the value we have and don’t even know.
