Pine Tree Camp
The trees towered over me. Stars twinkled in the navy night sky. A large campfire roared in front of me. My red-headed friend Misty chatted away in her white t-shirt and blue leggings. Her dark-haired boyfriend sat on the large log ignoring her and looking at me in my black band t-shirt and spiderweb leggings. Nervously, I played with my long wavy hair that was trimmed inverted. She cleared her throat, and grinned with sinister intent.

Hunting Macaws in the night
Scarlet Macaws are beautiful creatures. Unfortunately due to our world losing it's wilderness their habitats are disappearing all over. But one place you can still find them is in the Amazon rainforest. I had met up with a small group of trackers earlier in the week who told me they had seen many Macaws near the Amazon river. They also warned me of the many dangers of the river. Between crocodiles, snakes, and carnivorous fish I would have my hands full. But none of that mattered if I could find the Scarlet Macaws.

A Harrowing Night
I run frantically through the woods my chest heaving breaths of the crisp fall air causing my lungs to protest sharply. I dare not stop though not with them chasing me. They scream and yip and howl like animals as they chase me gayly through the trees. I trip over a root and sprawl out onto the hard cold dirt. I have no time to rest or make sure I’m ok I must keep running, three days ago I would have never believed that this would be my life. Tortured, whipped, broken, and now chased like a hare by a hound.

In search of ‘The Ticky’.
As a freelance features writer I’m always looking for great and original stories I can get my teeth into and during a recent trip I had made to the Scottish Borders in pursuit of a story about Gamekeepers in modern Britain. It was an interesting article in the end but very niche and while it sold I knew as I researched it that I needed something different to follow up with and to that end I was very receptive to anything new or intriguing. Perhaps too much so but what I found in a tiny little country pub sent me down some spectacular rabbit holes and finding the most disturbing story I have ever come across.

La Muerto Blanco
So, here is another legend that actually has some truth to it, I think. This one is called La Muerto Blanco. Now, as legend has it, there was a little girl that hated her life so much that she went to the extreme measure of erasing all traces of herself then ultimately killing herself. This act of self-loath turned this girl into and evil entity after death that allows her to continue to carry this rage and her mission of erasing herself entirely. The people that found her dead corpse, died a few days later in a gruesome ripping of the limbs.

Elm
She was only 5 years old. A young brilliant minded child. So unique eyes open wider than the skies could reach. She had short brown hair with wispy cross bangs trimmed delicately, just above her eyes. She was getting ready for her first day of kindergarten, in a brand-new house, about to leave for the day. Along with a new Step dad, and step brother and sister. She skipped her way to their first day of the new school year which just so happened to be located just a walk around the corner. Her brother and sister were older and in much higher grades than her so she did not see them much during school hours. When they got home, well, life was a different story. Here is too the beginning of a bone chilling short story that you will never forget.

Lighthouse Jog (ghost story version)
The salty wind, a calming fresh scent, blew across my face cooling me down from my routine morning run. It was crisp, fresh, and the break I needed from the world. A perfect start to the day and a wonderful beginning in a new town. It was as if I was all alone, not a soul for miles and yet I could see the first early morning beach goers setting up their spot for the day. My ears caught the symphony of gulls and the voices of the waves. They didn’t demand my attention, but they didn’t reject it.

The Fifth Mile
The Fifth Mile. I’m not talking about driving here, I'm talking about walking. Honestly, you should be running, but it only prolongs the inevitable. Sorry, I should explain, shouldn’t I? Yes, there need to be more people who can spread the warning.

Site-17: The Beginning Verse Pt. 1
You know those stories your friends and you tell around camp fires? Or the scary tales of creatures going bump in the night? Creatures under your bed or in your closet ready to pounce at any moment and the feeling of fright washes over you as you run and hide from the worst. Well I hate to break it to you, but it's true, Boogeymen do exist just not in the forms you think they exist in. Contrary to popular belief these things don't always hide. Sometimes they are in plain site, watching and waiting. Sometimes you cant see them and at other times you interact with them on the daily bases.

Three
There was a beat in my head. It was maybe a song, but at this point it was more of a hammering and I was starting to feel sick. I pulled my hair up into a pony tail and switched my desk lamp off. I sigh. A long, audible sound that makes the cat open her sleeping eyes and blink at me once, twice. She went back to sleep. I sat in my chair for a long time until I got up and went to the medicine cabinet.
