Ghost Crabbing
“Wanna go ghost crab huntin with us?” The question startled Brad. He looked down and saw two kids standing at the edge of the marsh with a bucket. It was not uncommon, people always walk down towards the marsh during low tide. It was however strange, in Brad’s mind, to be asked by two strange kids if he wanted to go down there. Brad had grown up near the island and usually walked the causeway to the beach a couple times a week. This particular day he happened to stop on one of the small bridges that crossed the salt-water creek and look out across the marsh lands.

Gericht
The guns stopped firing right as the rain did at two pm. Private Muller lit a cigarette scavenged from a nearby body—a boy, who couldn’t be a day older than seventeen. Muller appreciated a moment of relative silence. Somewhere far down the line, he could still hear the big guns going, the gray horizon lit with bursts of red and orange glow. Here it was quiet.

Gum Shoe Blues
Gum Shoe Blues I'd been working at this thrift store for about a week before I stumbled across the box. I say working, but it's more like volunteering. I'll save you the gory details, but needless to say that I screwed up after a night of drinking and ran into a bus stop with my car. Thankfully it was three am. There was no one in it, and the judge decided not to ruin my life over a mistake. He gave me community service and told me that it better never happen again. This was ideal since, as a college student, I don't have a lot of money. I also couldn't afford to get kicked out of college for going to jail either. So, with thirty-six weeks of community service to serve, I sat about working for my local thrift store, Charlies Second Chances.

Playing with dolls
I like to think that I’m your average 26-year-old male, I like the ladies, video games, sports and so on. I’m just a little different. I like to play with dolls. You know what I mean, don’t kid yourself. I like to make them date, go out, have a normal life just like us. Make them into real people, if you know what I mean. Pose them the way I want, make them do whatever I want. We all have our own god complex; this is the way I handle mine. Now don’t misunderstand what I’m saying, I’m not crazy or a homo or anything like that. It’s just that I have my own way of dealing with life and its downfalls. Not that I promote my lifestyle or anything of that nature, but it just seems to have always worked for me.

Whispers From the Stars. Runner-Up in New Worlds Challenge.
Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. But no one mentioned anything about the whispers. When we first sighted Venta 614, we thought we had discovered paradise. Our Gaia Probe had sent back signals of optimum habitability. A planet, not only similar to the one our ancestors had originally called home, but one flourishing with more nutrients and resources than we could have imagined. It was like a dream, though dreams often reshape themselves into something else entirely.

Whitebread Willy in a Strangle Hold
1. Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. Willy pumped the brakes too quickly on his cherried-out 1979 F100 pickup with a hydraulic suspension system on rims from a newer Chevy Nova. The problem is it needed a part they don’t make anymore and so the 1979 front disk brakes were about to fail completely and the rear drums had to work twice as hard. Sometimes the rear wheels would lock up and skid mid way through the second brake-pump and sometimes it took 5. Good ol’ Willy never knew many pumps it would take. It was a rough ride.

My God
Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. But this astronaut was hearing them filtering through the static of the intercom. She was too afraid to move so she sat still curling her fingers around the cold metal of a crucifix that hung preciously down in front of her throat, offering her some comfort. The astronaut closed her eyes and muttered a prayer under several deep heavy breaths.

The Effects of a Broken Astronaut.
“Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say.” The words came from the scratchy child's voice on the tape, floating through the greenhouse where Hearl kept his suspects. The beings of another kind in his own eyes, when they resembled nothing more than humans.

Moon Child
Moon Child Grandpa and I spent a few nights in the woods after the incident with the bottle tree. As good as I had felt the night after, my legs weren't quite up for a hike back out again just yet. So, we spent two nights in the woods while I recovered.
