Reviewing Premiere Week of "Beyond the Gates"
After many months of hype and promos, we were finally treated to CBS' newest daytime soap opera, Beyond the Gates. Now I've said this before, I'm not exactly the biggest soap fan. However, after learning about this soap and the history behind it, I had to see this. Beyond the Gates is TV's first predominantly Black soap in well over 30 years, since the short-lived soap, Generations, aired on NBC from 1989-1991. The cast of that series included Richard Roundtree, Vivica A. Fox, and the late, great Kristoff St. John (who later played Eric Winters on The Young and the Restless).

Michelle Trachtenberg: Remembering Jenny From 'EuroTrip'. Top Story - February 2025.
Michelle Trachtenberg possessed a rare talent, conveying more with her eyes than many could with pages of dialogue. In fact, her career, though remarkable, hinted at even greater potential. From Buffy the Vampire Slayer to Gossip Girl and beyond, she displayed an impressive range and was among the defining figures of the 90s' to late 00s' pop culture. More importantly, as a person, she seemed to exude intelligence and authenticity, coupled with a sharp, often dark, wit that remained with her until the end.

Anime for Life
Anime has evolved drastically over the years, yet some classics continue to resonate with audiences decades after their original release. Titles like "Dragon Ball," "Neon Genesis Evangelion," "Cowboy Bebop," and "One Piece" have stood the test of time, remaining as influential and beloved today as when they first aired. This enduring appeal raises an important question: what makes certain anime timeless while others fade into obscurity? The answer lies in universal themes, character depth, and innovative storytelling techniques that allow these series to transcend their era and appeal to new generations.
