Witch's Light
Prologue Long long ago in an area that is forgotten and yet remembered, there was a meeting of five kings. From the south came the reluctant leader of the Blackfire wolves. From the East, the all too eager prince of Dragons. From the north came the frozen twin lords of the Seers. From the west, the high priestess of Light. To greet them all, there was the king of man at the center. These five kings met to decide the fate of their world and how to fight the growing darkness. The creatures of twilight and man had to work together to defeat the darkness. My family descends from the western priestess and even though no one knows what happened at that gathering, that would create the divides that exist now.

The Package
All eyes turned, followed by gasps, as the lithe blonde woman in a figure-hugging leather jacket and pant suit passed through the revolving door of the Western Union office. She zeroed in on the man behind the counter, her gait had a matchless step like a nymph riding the wind—true and smooth. Her French braid she wore to the middle of her back never moved.

Little Black Book of Magic and Mystery
Tamara lay on her back in the meadow next to her grandparents house, starring up into the beautiful blue summer sky. She closed her eyes and felt the cool breeze blow across her bikini clad skin, and twirl through her long blonde hair like silky fingers. Laying in the sun was her place of zen, it helped her to take her mind off of the nightmare that was her life lately.

A Tale of Two Sands 1
The air is cold tonight. I would not expect this, not where the Nile meets the sea; all this water should better hold the heat of day. A sudden gust whips past and I see Djal tug his robes tight around his chest. Something unnatural on the wind has stolen its warmth. Or is it just the cloudless sky and my restless mind? This city is not familiar to either myself or my two companions; I am thankful for the stars that aid our watch. Djal shivers, then speaks, "If we could scout this meeting place in the day, perhaps we could see it better and it would be warm."

Family Secrets
Walking into the elegant, well-kept Victorian-style house would never be the same again. Grandma Lillian’s rowdy laughter was missing from the entryway, and the smell of her baking was nowhere to be found. The small things she’d done to make the house a home were slowly dwindling as boxes were packed up and items sorted for keeping, selling, or giving away.

Obsessed
Ash walked up and down the aisles of the little antique store, her hazel eyes fell on the little black notebook that sat next to the other trinkets. She slowly reached out and touched it, only to pull back quickly. A sense of peace had washed over her, she hadn’t realized she was tense in the moments before touching that journal. She looked around at the other trinkets, seeing a small porcelain elephant, an old tea set with delicate flowers painted on them and other easy nicknacks, but no other journals. “I have a million journals at home.”

30th July 2008 Entry from the diary of President George Bush Jr. Dear diary, Today, while I was in the office. My secretary called to say I had a visitor named Karen – which I personally believe is a fine name for a strong woman. So, I ordered my secretary to show her in.

Queen's Heir
I twirled my staff toward the dummy that stood before me, imagining it to be an enemy of our kingdom, jabbing it in the side then in the heart. My heart was loud in my own ears as I trained until I ran out of breath. I inhaled deeply and wiped the sweat off of my forehead. “You work too hard to be exerting yourself Jasmine.” I heard a male say from off to my right. I glanced over at the man that approached me from the shadows. His aura, an ultraviolet, could be easily seen from where he was. “What do you plan on doing with all of this training?” Parker was an obnoxious man that knew how to swoon women but I was lucky enough to evade his charms. I was born not to get distracted easily and when I did, It was a hell of a day in my world.

VICKY
Looking around, I was enchanted by the décor that surrounded me. Late Victorian in design and colour, I could almost hear the late actresses singing in their beautiful flowing dresses, in full make-up and acting as they sang. Standing at the front of the stage, it was amazing to see how large this old building was. The auditorium could sit two thousand people. Even the seats still looked late Victorian and the lamps still had their original glass shades, but surely now electricity had been installed.
