Adventure
Melanin of the Sun
There was an eerie calm that settled over the world ever since the sun died. Our world was blanketed in an eternal darkness that should have been the end of our civilization as we know it, but human beings have a vicious tenacity about them. Humans wield a strong desire to tell the universe no and bend it to our will. Humanity fought back the coming natural frozen death of the planet with technology, artificial light and heat, and pure grit and determination. People’s faith was turned only to those who had the technology to help them, and the money to pay for it. Over the next two hundred years nations and their boundaries were dissolved and redrawn to denote which technological giants now carved up the land. The largest of those conglomerates was Luminous Industries. Only sprouting up in the past twenty years or so with their life saving synthetic foods and lights. Their Cibo Vitam food took them from a small startup company to being one with enough revenue to purchase a few weapons companies. From there they either made enough money to own you or took what was yours by force.

Freeing A God
A brown hand was pushed against the yellow stone, dirty nails and torn skin against the pitted rock. This young boy was leaning against the stone; sandals tied together around his neck, a torn tunic sitting oddly on his frame and a veil of sweat over his skin. The hand belonged to him, as did the pained breathing that echoed throughout the alleyway. Ragged breaths were being drawn up through his throat, tugging his stomach into a hollow below his ribcage.

Finding home
No one would have predicted things would turn out this way. Years of pollution and toxic waste turning animals into vile, vicious creatures. Many of us took to the sea in order to survive while the braver or probably more reckless people stayed to fight. My mother was among those brave souls. I don't know much about my mother. She put me on a ship with my aunt when I was only five, and now the only thing I have to remember her by is her golden heart locket. It's been ten years since the fight ended and if not for the locket I surely would have forgotten my mother's face by now. Only now are we risking heading back to the shore to try and salvage what is left of our old lives.

The Heart’s Truth
My heart pounded in my ears as I reached the top of the staircase. I held my breath and listened for any movement behind me. I did not think I was being followed, but it was only a matter of time before the Council would come searching for me. “This is not a kingdom I want any part in ruling,” I thought to myself. Looking over my shoulder into the familiar shadows below, the fear I felt was replaced with anger. The network of caverns and tunnels that I had always known as “home”, now seemed nothing more than a glorified dungeon. I took in a deep breath and allowed that anger to fuel my actions. The air felt heavy as I slid through the old, barracaded passage to my left and kept moving through the darkness as quietly as possible.

SKYLANDERS
REPORT FROM SILVERWING: “We’re the good guys. Our ancestors went above and beyond the call of duty to battle an intergalactic mob boss. That heritage makes us VALIANT! The denizens of Sixth Earth trust our authority for the most part. The Underdwellers still require our persuasion; and the Aquatitans, despite our best bids for their support, have not chosen aside.
