My Father, My Dad
Growing up I was never very close to my father. He was a hard working man who never missed a day of work or passed up an opportunity for overtime. Yet when he came home from work, he wanted his dinner, his newspaper, and time to watch tv for a bit, often falling asleep in his chair which no one else was permitted to occupy.

I Have A Really Good Dad
I have a really good dad. Honestly, I never thought I would be writing about him, let alone submitting something like this to the world. You see, my relationship with my father has always been a quiet affection. What I mean by that is that I can’t ever remember a time where he said the words ‘I love you’, but I have also never felt unloved. He has always been there for me, doing everything within his power to keep me safe, giving me a great life, and I owe much of who I am today to him.

Confession From a Girl With Daddy Issues
So only my therapist knows about this, but I feel like I should tell a bunch of strangers about it. I always thought my parents were married, but one day while I was looking for my social security card for my new job I found out that my parents were actually divorced. They threw in the towel shortly after I was born and for the next eighteen years pretended like they were still together. I should’ve known there was something wrong when my mom refused to sleep in the same bed with my dad. Even long after I turned eighteen they pretended to be married.

Suddenly Single
We all want to live the American dream, find the love of our life, get married, and have kids. We see our parent's relationships and we either want to find love exactly like what they have or something completely opposite. When we find love, or what we think is "love" for most it hits us hard and fast. If he really captures your heart, we might even walk down the aisle and pledge to love him till death, do us part. But the truth is once you are in a relationship there are nights when you sometimes secretly wish for a way out, you love the life you have, and your kids mean the world to you, but you are living a monotonous lie that you dream of being on the other side of.

To be a Profitable Person you have to give away this…
At times, in order to be able to become a very good man or woman, to know each of our dreams and have as close as possible to which ideal of who also we wish to be, most of us have no to put things, we must offer some of these people up. There happen to be certain things which can prevent people from being profitable, some of these people can be extremely simple of which we can eradicate them really swiftly from our day-to-day lives.

I will always be your daughter
You were never able to have a child with my mom; still, you saw me as your little princess and daughter. Now that I look back at the time we had an argument and told you that you're not my dad and didn't speak to me for almost a week, I realize how much I wounded your heart with those words. I know that you value me so much. The relationship between us at the beginning was nowhere near great, I didn't like you at all, but as time passed, I learned so many things from you. I learned the importance of speaking up for myself; I learned not to be afraid to speak my mind, and I realized that despite my mistakes, those mistakes do not define me as a whole person. You showed me that I am someone who is a rose; you showed me I am not some loser like those kids at middle school would assume.

BUT PEOPLE DIE IN HOSPITALS
AS THE CAR PULLED UP to the front of ALLEN PARK VETERANS HOSPITAL I squinted to see what and where I was going. I was supposed to walk in through the front doors somewhere amidst the blur of colors I could see in the distance. Dad's voice mumbled instructions as to where he was going to be... I think.

Taste the Rainbow 🌈 . Top Story - June 2022.
Daddy left me long before he died. I think he loved me, but life with me wasn't a cohesive fit. I think I loved him, too. He was the biggest, strongest, most handsome man I knew. When I was young, he would lift me high on his shoulders. From that vantage point, I was invincible. He'd never let any harm come my way on his watch. Maybe that's why the bad things didn't happen until he was gone.

A Man of Vision
One story about my father would not be enough. He has not been the same person, even in the short time that I have lived. Even before my time, my father was constantly evolving. So I will summarize the best I can, the story of my father's ambition.

Dads are No Joke is a tough challenge. Should I tell you the story of the man I call dad, or should I tell you the story of the man who walked away? I have opted to tell you a blend of both, to show my appreciation and understanding for both situations.
