Striker Announces He Will End His Nine Year Spell And Look For A New Challenge

It has been just over a week since Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah announced he will leave the club at the end of the season. Fans will have got used to the was the Egyptian managed to out class opponents and score to help save the team’s fortunes when in need.
The club had been in negotiations but have now agreed to let Salah leave on a free transfer. In the past there have been many large bids for the striker from clubs such as Real Madrid but these were flatly refused at the time. Having spent almost a decade on Merseyside there has been plenty of reaction from players and fans alike to the Egyptian’s decision.
Numerous team-mates, current and former, have posted tributes to the 33-year-old since the announcement, including left-back Andy Robertson, who said "you deserve a send-off that reflects your status - the greatest"

There have also been increased tensions between Salah and Liverpool manager Arne Slot whom he accused of making him a scapegoat for the team’s troubles. Salah also stated that he felt he was being unfairly treated and was being thrown under the bus.
Having scored 255 goals in 435 appearances to date has the Egyptian sitting third on the Reds’ all-time leading goalscorers chart, winning the Premier League Golden Boot on four occasions in addition to a host of personal accolades. Arne Slot has praised Mohamed Salah's elite performance and professionalism, while navigating tension over team roles. Key quotes highlight Salah's quality ("He stands out," "best numbers"), work ethic ("humble, works hard"), and the necessity of managing team harmony. Slot emphasized that actions, not words, define team
Arne Slot on the Mo Salah situation:
“The situation with Salah is from far ideal. Not good for anyone”.
“Not for the club, not for the team, not for him as well. So far from ideal. We reacted in the way we did and not to take him here. That’s why we felt about his comments”.
🎙️ Arne Slot on if Salah has a point:
“Those are his words. I don’t think it’s up to me to debate what he thinks, what he feels. But that’s definitely not what I feel. What happened is that I did not start a player that played many, many, many games for Liverpool and for me. I think we have struggled this season but already in the last part of last season with game plans of the opponent.
I’ve tried to adapt, adapt but I think after it was PSV and Forest where we again looked very vulnerable, I decided to do something else and that’s what happened that I did not play Salah against West Ham, against Sunderland and Leeds. Everybody can have his opinion and use his own words about what he thinks about the situation, but it’s also up to us to react to them if a player uses words, we cannot accept.”
