The One Broken Clock That's Not Right Every Day
How Donald Trump got elected again, after the first time, and the second time had to screw us.

Dear Donald,
Jesus! Come on man! A little bit of lube before a screwing like this is appropriate.
Signed,
Everybody!
There was a reason, as a conservative, that conservatives didn't trust the wild card that is Donald J. Trump. And he's as much a wild card as there's ever been. Sure, we had Sleepy Joe, but at least the garbage polices were quiet. We could have had Kamala, but she didn't have a plan to sell herself to all of America, and hadn't done much as VP.
So, since Joe Biden got the nic-name, Sleepy Joe, it's past time we start calling Trump that will stick. Like Wild Card Donald. Now, ask why in the hell he's president. Because, much to my dismay, I can't figure it out.
As we have seen, Trump's changed during his time away from office. Maybe it's because he's older. Maybe it's because of all the lawfare, and blatant attacks by the left, leaving him meaner and angrier. Or, maybe, this was always him.
As he loses members of his base, his voter support, I look back at the point he lost me. Yes, I supported him in the 2016 election, because what we had didn't work. It was past time for somebody to come in the D.C. and disrupt the status quo.
Trump lost this guy when I heard him say, "I don't know anything about it," regarding Project 2025. It didn't take long to read the highly likely truth from that statement, Trump lied his tail off that day. Just hours after that statement, I found photos of him with the founder of the Heritage Foundation, and read through the Authors of the parts of Project 2025. Surprise, half of them have been in Trump's circle.
Then came the files. The push to release them, to get "JUSTICE" for the victims, was peculiarly ill times. Releasing the truth about Jeffrey Epstein, and Ghislaine Maxwell, still isn't fully done, but there's more going on in the background that we have been advised of, and some things may never become public.
Then, there's the reality for everyone!
We're Being Screwed
Gas prices shooting through the roof as Iran pinches off the straight, and the d*** measuring contest in the Middle East is poised to drag on for a while, are connected, even though they shouldn't be. The gas we are pumping today came from oil bought six months ago, so it's the distributors who are jacking up the prices. But, this happens every time there's a dustup with the middle east.
Some will say the price of everything is sky high. Some of those prices are sky high, but they've been that way since Joe Biden was in office, and are attributably higher because of things happening under his presidency. I get it, every current president takes one on the chin for what's going on today, but it doesn't make it their fault.
Going to Iran was to support Israel. It doesn't take a senator, president, or general to see that Iran didn't have to happen today. And now, dealing with them, is problematic. It's hard to think that we'll ever be able to deal well with the Iranians after being involved with a strike that killed the new supreme leaders family, on top of his father.
Gas prices are likely to go higher and higher until this calms, or is over. So, where was the "drill, baby, drill," going to help us to be more energy independent, and get the prices to go down for shipping, deliver, and personal use?
Even a broken clock is right twice a day, but in this case, the clocks missing a second hand and a minute hand. We've got to find better candidates on the Democratic side, and on the Republican side. Otherwise, all of them will be the broken clocks of our government, and we need more than that

Well written, Jason. You’re a good writer. There are a few points that I agree with and don’t agree. Prices of a lot of things are sky high right now. Yes, some prices are from when Biden was president. However, unlike the trump misinformation machine I feel Biden did an excellent job with inflation. During a time when other countries were experiencing 25%, 50%, 100%, and up to 200% inflation we experienced around 11% (I hear 9% being cited by most people). The U.S. experienced one of the lowest inflation rates at that time. That’s a phenomenal accomplishment. Though, since this Iran war (which I agree did not need to happen) prices have increased - especially on paper goods. You are right prices from when Biden was president have not gone down like trump promised they would if he became president. So now we have the “coming out of Covid” inflation prices and the “did not need to happen Iran war” price increases combined. You’re right distributors are jacking up gas prices but then again had trump not given them an excuse for jacking them up - they would not have. I agree with you in that Kamala Harris was a weak candidate. The economy was the number one thing that people were voting on and she did not talk to it. She let Donald Trump own the narrative. Had she won I think she would’ve been an OK president. But as a candidate she was weak. Democrats should’ve been able to have a primary. Joe Biden should’ve stepped down at least six months earlier than he did. You’re right the lion’s share of politicians these days both republican and democrat are weak. I am not too hot on Gavin Newsom. Do I think he can win in 2028, yes I think he can. Mostly because he knows how to own the narrative. It seems like that’s what you have to do these days in order to win. But I would really like to see Mark Kelly be the Democratic nominee. I like him. I think he would make an outstanding president.
