You Are Just A Man
Not meant for me. I send you off free

You Are Just A Man
You’re just a man, not a king,
No crown, no throne, no song to sing.
Not the hero I’d dreamed of before,
Just a shadow standing at my door.
No spark within, no fire, no glow,
No depths of warmth for me to know.
Not a person my heart could trust,
Just empty words that fade to dust.
You’re just a man, not what I need,
No roots to grow, no tender seed.
I turn away, my path is clear,
No love to give, no longing here.
The road ahead is mine to claim,
Unchained by doubt, untouched by shame.
Your chapter ends, the page now turns,
To brighter days where my candle burns.

I've been writing poetry since the age of 10. With pen in hand, I wander the realms unseen. The pen holds power; ink reveals thoughts. A poet may speak truth or weave a tale. You decide. Let pen and ink capture you ❤️#Marie381UkWrites

There seems to be a choice that needs to be made. Good job.
Beautiful poem!
