I threw up in my mouth writing this

There’s not much to it—

anybody can do it.

AA, BB, CC, and so forth

Couplets paired without worth.

Meaning brutally divorced from sound,

terminal rhyme breeds, itself abounds.

When I was a child, I had this curse—

thinking rhyme is all there is to verse.

And then began my true study,

saw that rhyme is not my buddy.

When used with purpose, it can be clever,

but the be-all, end-all? I say never!

It rarely gives me satisfaction;

inane sound become distraction.

Where’s the truth, the image of proof?

I prefer the sky. You can keep your roof.

    Another brilliant subversion indeed. You got me thinking of inane sound. Seems to be everywhere nowadays. You called it out, as always.

    Lass. This is great though. You subverted.it in your usual dazzling style. I am scheming for the horror challenge... Like. I might email and share the diabolicalness cos sanity check it might be me my most depraved thing yet. I also have an idea my head is working on that I just need to write for the small win one. Hope you're well. I know there's others to read from your wonderful mind.
