Those Feelings

What comes Back

Those Feelings

holding my hand as we sit on the train

her head nestled close on my shoulder

squeezing my thumb as she did, once again

like a child, whenever I held her

the precious bond between mother and child

remains, no matter the distance

remembering those moments still evokes a smile

held in those moments of pure reminiscence

watching and sharing as they fulfill their dreams

brings a joy that nobody discloses

spirits are filling and busting the seams

blooming as bold as a vine of red roses

switching the roles as our ages progress

brings a change that assures tomorrow

swelling with pride, deep inside of my chest

knowing too well that our time here is borrowed

I cling to those memories, as I sit in today

knowing tomorrow is not promised yet

each one is a treasure just a daydream away

and I'm thankful when they make their way back

I love this so much. In my heart, I know when my time approaches, my sons will be right beside me.
