The Mask of the Face - of DesIre

Return of familiar isn’t always good

By Gabriel ShamesPublished about 5 hours ago 1 min read
hazy is the eyes before the face is seen

Behold…

There’s that face I know again;

There’s that face I would know anywhere.

🎭+}~#~🎭

I don’t need it to return again,

I don’t want it to return again…

But it always does.

🌀🎭🌀

The face of desire.

/~\~\~/

Desire to make something happen…

… control the outcome …

…. reach for the heights of pleasure …

Only for what to be waiting at the end?

&~&~%^

Satisfaction?

Satisfaction doesn’t return,

Not permanently…

But desire does.

;(/&~&~

I have to stare down that face of desire.

Somehow…

Let it know I actually don’t enjoy it being here.

Because the pleasure it brings?

…Barely ever worth it.

%~#~?

I seek the underlying satisfaction instead.

My own truth.
