Introduction: Sweetie Bird’s Beak-Moving Blues

By Vicki Lawana Trusselli

"I’ve heard the whispers in the writer's groups. I’ve seen the headlines. According to the internet, AI is currently busy plotting a global takeover while simultaneously stealing our creative souls. It’s a great script for a sci-fi thriller and having worked in the film industry, I know a good plot when I see one.

But here in Riverside, the reality is a little less 'Terminator' and a lot more 'Technicolor'.

While the world worries about the 'AI Uprising,' I’m sitting in my living room using these tools to help my budgie, Sweetie Bird, find her inner blues singer. This piece is a satirical look at the fear, fun, and the fact that despite the rumors the only thing AI has 'taken over' in my house is the backup vocals on a bird’s debut single.

So, before you head for the bunkers, take a look at how this 'techie artist' is actually using the multiverse of wonder to keep the creative spark alive."

Behind the Beak: The Making of "Sweetie Bird’s Beak-Moving Blues"

The Inspiration

It started on a slow Friday morning. My roommate’s dog, Chachi, had been scratching at the door, but once he settled into a nap, the house finally went still. That’s when Sweetie Bird took the stage. As a "techie artist," I’m always looking for that spark, and seeing her catch the light on my vanity clutches was all the "storyboard" I needed.

Production

Pulling from my years in the industry, I wanted this Trusselli Art film to feel both soulful and a bit supernatural.

• The Score: I used Suno to create a deep, bluesy arrangement that matches my own preference for a contralto or baritone vocal style. The voice is MINE. MY WRITING, EDITING, CREATING.

• The Visuals: I lightened up spontaneous photos and used LTX and other platforms to animate Sweetie's "vocal" performance.

• The Paranormal Twist: Since I’ve always had a love for sci-fi and horror, I couldn't resist adding some ghostly "backup singers" to the mix. It’s a nod to the spooky stories my niece Pookie and I love to swap.

The Star

TRUSSELLI ART

Sweetie Bird Trusselli is natural. Whether she’s "reaching through the static" or performing at a spirit-filled microphone, she proved that all you really need for a hit is "Millet, Seeds, Water, & Rock N Roll."

Sweetie Bird’s Beak-Moving Blues

(Slow, heavy 70s blues tempo. Think deep, soulful baritone vocals.)

Verse 1

The sun is sinkin' low over Riverside

Sweetie’s got a secret she’s tryin’ not to hide

I see her lookin’ at me, golden eyes so wide

While the story, she’s tellin’ is locked deep inside.

Chorus

It’s the Sweetie Bird Beak-Moving Blues

Got a message to send, but she’s got nothin’ to lose

That little beak is workin’, ghost of a sound

But the silence is heavy, pinned to the ground.

Verse 2

She’s reachin’ through the static, reachin’ through the air

I’m tryin’

to read the mind of the lady in the chair

A multiverse of wonder, a story for the screen

The greatest movie debut that nobody’s ever seen.

Bridge

No whistle in the rafters, no song in the room

Just the rhythm of the shadows in the afternoon gloom

She’s talkin’ with her spirit, talkin’ with her soul

Tryin’ to make a broken melody feel whole.

Outro

Yeah, keep movin’ that beak, Sweetie...

I’m catchin’ the drift.

It’s a silent kind of blues.

Just you and me in the 5 o'clock light.

Love you Sweetie Bird
