To keep the nightmare at bay.

I thought I was so tough,

Until this terrible day.

God how stupid I’d been,

To think I had been relieved.

Out of all the things I seen,

It’s still not to be believed.

The filthy thing was in a ditch,

I thought I had dug down deep.

But no nothing holds a witch,

Not even death-like sleep.

On my front step she stands,

Amused but not happy.

My phone was in her hands,

And it felt so crappy.

Before I could even blink,

A bright glow encased me.

Not much time to think,

As I turned to a hanky.
