If Any Of This Was You, Know That You're Not Alone
The aches of March are going to take time to recover from. God help us, it's April and it's not looking good.
March, 2026, was oen of the craziest of months. There were so many things that happened, both personally and in the world, that it's hard to belive that everybody didn't run headlong off a cliff, holding hands, and singing seven bloody kum-bayas. That seems to be the way the world runs, at least anymore. So, let's dig into it, and if any of this was you, know that you're not alone.
Oil and Poltics Still Connected at the Hip
Up, up, and away we go. Did you hear that battlecry in your ears, at some point? For millions of people, those words were all they could hear echoing in their imaginations, with each and every time they left the house. As more and more people struggle with leaving the house, particularly in the generations of Y, Z, and Millennials, the words up, up, and away are bound to echo in their ears everytime they drive past a gas station.
Unfortunately, gas prices are back to rivaling that of the gas prices from Joe Biden's presidential term. Again, only the very, very, very naive will assert that presidents have no control over energy prices. That, is in fact, garbage. The decisions made to attack Iran, and join in with Israel, have shot gas prices from near 2.40 a gallon to over 4.00 a gallon in less than a month. And in this instance, President Trump and the current administration getting the United States involved in another war, has rocked the price of gas, and the economy, the very way President Biden's closing of the Keystone Pipeline project, and anti-American energy policies rocked the gas prices in 2021.
One thing that was confirmed during March of 2026, a presidents decision to take an action anywhere near oil production, whether foreign or domestic, changes the investment strategies of millions, and negatively affects the lower earning portion of the country, or the 70 percent.
As energy and oil prices are ballooning, again, and the President again, doesn't seem to care, much like his predecessor, this hurts anyone with a commute, anyone on a tight budget (like someone out of work and with cancer bills), and anyone trying to put money away without it all going back to the grocery bills that rose with gas prices before, and will likely rise again. Will it subside, or will it break records at 5.00 in the midwest Illinois region? Only time will tell.
INSURANCE Changes Caught Up
For some, they hadn't seen the effects of the Democrats losing their dangerous gambit on health insurance last year. They wanted nothing to change, despite the insurance industry making billions off the backs of the tax payers. The big health insurance companies got rich, particularly because pharmaceuticals were allowed to sell over priced items, items sold in other countries, for a fraction of what they're billed at here. I know this is factual, because Bayer is allowed to sell pharmaceuticals for five figures in the United States, before the effects of insurance, and in Canada, the same drugs sells for low four figures.
Once again, the little guys are going to feel the pain. Now that the amount of reimbursement isn't the same, and states are being investigated for funneling federal subsidies to care for illegals in emergency rooms around the country, the health industry is fighting drug coverage. Simple things like low end GLP-1 medicines have changed. One in particular, that was 10.00 dollars for a 90 day supply, is now 50 for a thirty day supply.
Had the Democrats taken the one year offer of an extension, and accepted that they weren't going to get the wish list that included that 1.5 trillion in foreign progressive projects, and funds aimed at benefiting not tax paying, illegal immigrants, this wouldn't have been the likely outcome. In March, the future got dimmer when it comes to insurance and meds, but not the overall price of the coverage. It was how well the coverage worked that I noticed hurt, so once again, Washington D.C. is guilty of failing miserably.
WAR READY
When I think of War, I often think of the song, War Ready. Check it out here, if you're not familiar, and the trailer action from Black Panther.
Unfortunately, the Middle East returned to the warring it barely escaped when we pulled out of there just a few years ago. It seems only like yesterday, because it was less than a full four years ago. And now, we're embroiled in a war in Iran, and it's one that many feel was illadvised, illtimed, and more than we're capable of understanding.
Do the Iranians want us there? Some may want us in country to keep from a repeat of January when Iran is believed to have killed thousands of young who were protesting the regime. But, do they want us there enough that they'll take up arms and fight the war on the ground, or will we risk our lives for a country unwilling to do the job of making change? There is the opinion that it won't be so the Iranians will step up, and take charge of their own fight, and that we're unprepared for another war, and can't afford the committment without destroying our economy here.
Most importantly, this is the legacy we appear to be leaving. Millennials, Gen Z, and Gen Y, and whatever else came, or will come, after those, have grown up in war. Not with the reality of it existing, but with it replayed hundreds of thousands of times on live television as they watched, understanding that what they saw was the death of humanbeings.
When do we stop getting involved in the mostrosity of war, and when something needs to be done, just do it. And yes, I'm asking the ultimate question? Instead of committing to never ending wars, and unavoidable amounts of death and destruction, that only leaves legacies of hatred by our enemies, when will we commit to ending our enemies once and for all?

Since the Iranian government has pointed out how we are the only ones to ever use one, and Iran has hated, and wanted our annihilation since the seventies, maybe it's time we decide to use another one, and cure the problems. Yes, I know, that's a horrible suggestion. But, it beats 20 years of war with the terrorists.
The Return of the Cancer
While I'm still envisioning a fight, this past couple of weeks has been daunting, to say the least. And yes, the cancer seems to be fighting to stick around as much as I'd like to say I've killed it. As insane as things are, maybe it is all about the timing. Timing is a brutal killer? It'll kill your spirit, your happiness, and your esteem.
And that's not all it kills. In this case, the timing is killing the bones, making them feel like I remember a broken one felt at times, like the 9 times I have broken them as an adult. Jesus, if I could only find a time machine and go back to say, the year 2002, and show my 30 year old self why I need to demand a doctor runs a blood test every month for the forseeable.
But, I'm not Marty McFly. And I don't know a Doc. And there's no magic Delorean. Only, the hope that by having at times documented how much this sucks, that somebody hears it, and sees their doctor before its too late. Getting genetic testing, like Angelina Jolie did, or Chris Hemsworth, isn't impossible to do. Truthfully, if I were to have gotten it in my 30s, there's a chance that I could have avoided the cancer altogether. It was the same style mutation that Angelina had.
If I ever see her, I guess I'd have to offer her a hearty fist bump. Anybody that has her number, feel free to pass it along.
Sleep evades, ribs hurt, internal parts aren't working well, and that's what's left. Who wants someone with that as a problem? Nobody is the answer.
Well, that was March! What's April going to be like?
