The early life of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is very important to understand because it shows how he grew up with patience, strength, and honesty despite many difficulties.

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was born in Makkah. Even before his birth, his father had already passed away. This means he grew up without ever knowing his father. His mother, Amina bint Wahb , took care of him in his early childhood and loved him deeply.

When he was about six years old, his mother decided to take him on a journey from Makkah to Madinah. The purpose of this journey was to visit relatives and also to show him the place where his father was buried. After spending some time there, they started their journey back to Makkah. However, on the way back, at a place called Abwa, his mother became very ill and passed away.

This was a very difficult moment in the life of the young Prophet ﷺ. At such a young age, he lost his mother and became an orphan. After her death, a servant named Barakah (also known as Umm Ayman) brought him safely back to Makkah.

After returning to Makkah, the responsibility of taking care of him was taken by his grandfather, Abdul Muttalib . He was a respected leader of the Quraysh tribe and loved his grandson very much. He would keep him close and treat him with special care and kindness. It is reported that he would even let the young Muhammad ﷺ sit with him in important gatherings, something he did not allow for others.

Under the care of his grandfather, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ experienced love, protection, and respect. However, this period did not last long. When he was about eight years old, his grandfather also passed away. This was another great loss in his young life.

Before his death, Abdul Muttalib entrusted the care of his grandson to his son, Abu Talib , who was the uncle of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

After this, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ went to live with his uncle Abu Talib . Although Abu Talib was not a wealthy man and had many children of his own, he loved his nephew deeply and took great care of him. He treated him like one of his own sons and always supported him.

As a child growing up in his uncle's house, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ lived a simple life. He did not grow up in luxury, but he learned the values of hard work, patience, and humility. One of the early jobs he did was herding goats. This may seem like a small task, but it taught him responsibility, patience, and how to care for others. It is also known that many prophets in history worked as shepherds in their early lives.

As he grew older, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ began to accompany his uncle on trade journeys. These journeys often took them to distant places such as Syria. Through these travels, he gained experience, knowledge, and understanding of different people and cultures. He also learned the skills of trade and business.

Even from a young age, people noticed his excellent character. He was honest, kind, and trustworthy. He never lied, cheated, or behaved badly. Because of this, the people of Makkah began to call him "Al-Ameen," which means "the trustworthy one." This title showed how many people respected him and trusted him in their daily dealings.

Despite facing many hardships—losing his father before birth, his mother at a young age, and then his grandfather—Prophet Muhammad ﷺ remained strong and patient. These early experiences helped shape his character and prepared him for the great responsibility he would later carry as a prophet.

His life during these early years was not easy, but it was full of lessons. He learned how to rely on Allah, how to be kind to others, and how to remain honest in all situations. The care he received from his grandfather and uncle also played an important role in his upbringing.

The love and support of Abdul Muttalib and later Abu Talib helped him grow into a person of strong character. Even though his uncle was not rich, he never let Prophet Muhammad ﷺ feel alone or unsupported.

In summary, after the death of his mother Amina bint Wahb , Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was first cared for by his grandfather Abdul Muttalib , and after his grandfather's death, by his uncle Abu Talib . His early life was full of challenges, but these challenges helped build his strong and noble character.

These early years were the beginning of a life that would later change the world. Through patience, honesty, and trust in Allah, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ grew into one of the greatest human beings in history.
